The Mekelle Ortho-Physiotherapy Center, operated by the Tigray Disabled Veterans Association (TDVA), has been awarded first place among Ethiopia’s 15 rehabilitation centers by the World Health Organization (WHO), recognizing its exceptional care for war-wounded veterans.

- Both are disabled veterans who lost limbs in Tigray’s 17-year struggle
- Have served at the center for 30+ years, fitting 1,200+ prosthetics
