Mekelle— The Tigray Disabled Veterans Association (TDVA) has successfully distributed over 13 million birr to 2,286 displaced members in the past five months. This vital assistance, fully funded by the Endowment Fund for the Rehabilitation of Tigray (EFFORT), highlights the organization’s commitment to supporting those affected by displacement.
The financial support aims to alleviate the hardships faced by displaced members and their families, providing them with the means to secure necessities and begin rebuilding their lives. This initiative reflects TDVA’s mission to not only support disabled veterans but also address the broader issues of displacement within the community.
“Our members have faced tremendous challenges due to displacement, and it is our duty to ensure they receive the aid they need,” said Ato Cherkos Weldemariam, TDVA General manager. “We are grateful to EFFORT for their funding, which has made this distribution possible.”
The assistance provided by TDVA has been instrumental in improving the living conditions of affected families, allowing them to regain some stability during these trying times. Each distribution is tailored to meet the specific needs of members, ensuring that the support is both impactful and necessary.
TDVA continues to encourage collaboration with local organizations and communities to expand further its outreach and effectiveness in assisting those in need.
