Mekelle, Tigray — The Tigray Disabled Veterans Association (TDVA) has provided substantial assistance to war-displaced members across the region, totaling more than 21 million birr in financial support.

According to TDVA’s report, the association supported 2,289 war-displaced members with funding provided through EFFORT, strengthening livelihoods for veterans and affected families. In addition to cash assistance, TDVA worked in collaboration with zonal stakeholders to deliver in-kind support to 2,979 members, ensuring broader coverage of essential goods and services.

The association stated that the in-kind support program required a total cost of 3,976,546 birr. Under the distribution arrangement, 1,053 members received support equivalent to 5,000 birr each, highlighting TDVA’s focus on targeted assistance for the most affected beneficiaries.

TDVA expressed appreciation for EFFORT and partner stakeholders for their cooperation, noting that the combined support is contributing to improving the well-being and stability of war-displaced disabled veterans in Tigray.

The association said it remains committed to mobilizing resources and expanding assistance through partnerships to reach more members in need in the coming period.
