Mekelle Tigray, Ethiopia — The Tigray Disabled Veterans Association (TDVA) continues to advance its mission of providing comprehensive integrated rehabilitation and development services that help persons with disabilities and their families become productive citizens and enjoy equal opportunities in life.
In the past nine months, TDVA—working in collaboration with the zonal administration and the woreda administrative structures of the Eastern Tigray Zone—supported 431 members to access housing land. The initiative aimed to reduce vulnerability and improve living conditions for disabled veterans and their families.
In addition, TDVA collaborated with the Mekelle City Administration to assist 39 members who faced financial constraints. Through this support, the beneficiaries were able to build their houses, marking an important step toward stability and improved household welfare.
TDVA stated that these interventions reflect its commitment to integrated development and rehabilitation, ensuring that disabled veterans and affected families receive practical support beyond medical and rehabilitation services—toward sustainable livelihoods and dignified living.
